Halo Wars 2 will launch on Feb. 21, 2017, for Windows 10 and Xbox One. Microsoft gave the release date as part of its E3 presser today, showing off a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming strategy game.

The game introduces a new faction called The Banished with Atriox serving as the lead villain. It will also take part in the Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing for progress and achievements to carry over between PC and Xbox.

An open beta will be available on the Xbox Store and Windows Store from today, June 13, until June 20, dates that first leaked earlier this week. Up to six players can take part in the multiplayer test. 343 Industries debuted the first, brief beta footage from the game during the event as well.

343 first announced that it was working with Creative Assembly on a second Halo Wars at Gamescom 2015. The game was originally set for a fall release.
