Bandai Namco's latest entry in the Tekken series is coming to Xbox One, Microsoft confirmed at its pre-E3 media briefing today. Tekken 7 is expected to hit the platform in "early 2017." The game is also bound for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, Bandai Namco later confirmed.
Producer Katsuhiro Harada also announced that Tekken 7 will get an all-new story mode that transitions seamlessly between cinematics and gameplay. Today's trailer for Tekken 7 shows Heihachi Mishima battling Street Fighter mainstay Akuma — who was added in the arcade version of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution.
Harada also announced that Bandai Namco will be giving Xbox One owners a free copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 during E3 week, which is supported through Xbox 360 backward compatibility.
Update: After the Xbox pre-E3 media briefing, Bandai Namco confirmed that Tekken 7 is also coming to PS4 and PC. This story has been updated to reflect those platforms.
