Steep will take you into the Alps this winter

You won't find any bunny hills here

Ubisoft announced Steep, a new open-world game that's out this December, during its E3 press conference this afternoon. The game's first trailer, above, reveals the title's heavy on the snowboarding.

Steep is set in the wintry landscapes of the Alps and Alaska and will allow players to snowboard, skydive and ski across the hills. The sports game offers multiplayer and the ability to record and share various action stunts.

Ubisoft Annecy is developing the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One title; the studio is, appropriately, based in the vicinity of the Swiss Alps. Memebrs of the team appeared on stage to show off Steep's gameplay footage, featuring the vast locations that players will traverse. There's also a mountain view feature that offers navigation between regions and gives a much wider look at the various peaks, cliffs and drop zones. The record and share function is also shown in the clip.

The game will enter into beta later this year; registration is now open on its website. Watch the gameplay walkthrough below.
