PlayStation VR will get a gun peripheral, the "PS VR Aim Controller," Sony has announced. Here's a look at it.
Tucked into a PlayStation Blog announcement about Farpoint, the virtual reality adventure revealed at last night's E3 news conference, the PS VR Aim Controller will offer "direct 1 to 1 tracking" that "provides an unbelievable sense of presence in the virtual world."
Sony's last stab at gun peripherals produced some memorable chassis, made by Sony and third parties, even if PlayStation Move quickly became an afterthought means of playing a shooter. The new Aim Controller somewhat resembles the Sharp Shooter, with the thumbstick, directional pad and bumper buttons on the front support, and the Move controller's bulb sticking from the front. In this case, it appears to be a single unit, as opposed to a housing into which Move controllers are snapped.
Pricing and launch date were not mentioned; PlayStation VR launches Oct. 13.
