Nintendo showed off a significant amount of the upcoming Zelda title during its livestream. The game is called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and here are some of the best moments from the trailer.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime touted the game as a completely different approach. The introductory trailer showed scenes in an open world, followed by Link exploring, taming a horse, cooking food, hunting animals, crafting structures and other activities.
"This is easily one of the biggest experiences ever created by Nintendo," Fils-Aime said. So let's dig in.
The moment where Link jumps off the cliff and then floats away is great.
The same thing can be said of this scene where Link rolls a boulder to crush his enemies. The green environments and expansive camera work is a nice antidote from the claustrophobic grimdark that is so common at E3.
Boom!
Here is the Master Sword, in all its glory.
There's a bit of a Princess Mononoke vibe going on right here.
Link can climb!
Some new powers are revealed.
Link is a water bender.
Behold the acrobatics!
And ... we're spent.
