Electronic Arts debuted a lengthy portion of multiplayer gameplay from Star Wars Battlefront 2 during its EA Play live event today.
Although one of the highlights of the new Battlefront game is that it has a hefty single-player campaign, EA devoted a significant part of the stream today to the updated multiplayer mode. It’s expanded from 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront, with much larger areas to traverse — both land and sky.
A variety of character classes were shown off during the demonstration, as well as different vehicles and airships. The publisher showed off airborne dogfighting intercut with on-foot action.
Among the actual fighters shown off during the stream were Boba Fett and Darth Maul, who went head to head on the planet of Naboo from Star Wars: Episode I. This is similar to the raw gameplay footage leaked just ahead of EA Play earlier today.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is out on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Nov. 17. It will release free content post-release, including new playable characters like Finn and Captain Phasma.
E3 2017 begins on June 13, with press conferences starting June 10. For the big announcements, make sure to check out our one-stop shop for the show's streams.
