Here’s the latest look at Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Monolith shows off the many ways to beat back Sauron’s army

A new trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War was shown off during the Microsoft E3 2017 media briefing. The gameplay footage focused on fortress assaults, part of the game’s expansion of the nemesis system.

A developer from Monolith provided voiceover explaining what was happening during the footage. He showcased the vast new lands in the game, the ability to compel enemies to fight on your side and how you can force your enemies to fight each other. You can watch the new footage for yourself in the video above.

Shadow of War was first revealed earlier this year, announced as a sequel that would build on the much-praised nemesis system from 2014’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. It was originally planned for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC in August but was recently delayed to October 10. You can find more details from our recent hands-on write-up.
