Crackdown 3 was announced back in 2014, and was supposed to be one of the Xbox One exclusives that would help sell the system. The game had a place of honor at this year’s Microsoft press event, complete with a wonderful trailer featuring Terry Crews, who stars as Commander Jaxon, which you can watch above.
The game will feature up to four player co-op. The game will be released on Nov. 7 alongside the Xbox One X. The developer of the game is now listed as Sumo Digital.
The original version of the game was supposed to be an example of how Microsoft’s cloud technology would help with environmental destruction.
"Crackdown started actually before we launched Xbox One, but we had the idea around cloud and how we wanted to use it in the game and I thought it was a natural fit to the creative fabric of the game,” Polygon was told back in 2015, shortly after Microsoft released first gameplay footage. “It's really come together.”
The latest version of the game did not seem to emphasize the destruction.
The new Crackdown was at one point slated to hit in 2016, but developer Reagent Games officially delayed it to 2017. Crackdown 3 will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning it will be available on Xbox One and Windows PC.
