The Duke is back — or at least a reproduction of the original, notoriously gigantic Xbox controller will be available this holiday season for Xbox consoles and Windows 10 PCs, thanks to a partnership between Microsoft and Hyperkin.
The retro controller will be “a faithful recreation of the original controller's form-factor with some updated features: a logo display screen, left and right bumpers, and a 9 ft. detachable cable,” according to the description accompanying the YouTube video above.
The description says that it’s also being created with “the blessing of Seamus Blackley,” who co-wrote the proposal that got the Xbox project started and was on the team that designed the first console.

Today’s announcement coincides with Microsoft’s E3 2017 reveal of backward compatibility with the original Xbox, which is coming to Xbox One family of consoles later this year. Original Xbox discs will even work with the consoles. Hyperkin also manufactures Retron consoles, which play NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis other retro cartridges.
