The Evil Within 2 is in the works, Bethesda Softworks revealed during its E3 2017 press conference. It will launch — very appropriately – on Friday, Oct. 13.
The publisher showed off a lengthy debut trailer for the survival horror game, which goes heavy on the voiceover. That only contributes to its spooky vibe, however — the trailer doesn’t shy away from all kinds of horrors, like burning villages, pitch-black forests, and lots and lots of dead bodies.
Veteran designer Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil, Vanquish) directed the previous entry, developed by his studio Tango Gameworks. 2014’s The Evil Within was the developer’s first project; Mikami founded Tango Gameworks in 2012 after leaving PlatinumGames two years prior.
The publisher confirmed that The Evil Within 2 arrives on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. It also confirmed that it will “surely be giving us all nightmares,” which we completely agree with based on what we’ve seen thus far.
