Kirby is coming to Nintendo Switch

And he’s bringing friends — or making them

The Nintendo Switch is getting its first Kirby game in 2018. For now it’s under the working title Kirby.

The announcement video during this morning’s Nintendo Spotlight showed Kirby battling with melee weapons, inhaling enemies, changing shapes (including into a curling stone) and employing his traditional Kirby powers and abilities.

However, in Kirby, he’ll also be joined by up to three teammates — either three other players in co-operative play, or by recruiting enemies to his side by tossing hearts at them. Kirby is also seen combining copy abilities to create combo attacks with the entire party, and he uses teamwork to solve puzzles.

Kirby last appeared in Kirby: Planet Robobot on Nintendo 3DS last year, and on a console in 2015’s Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Be sure to check out the rest of our Nintendo coverage as well, as the company is packing a lot of stuff into a short presentation.
