Sony’s E3 2017 press conference: Here’s what we thought

Nick and Simone discuss the ups and downs

Simone de Rochefort has been producing & hosting YouTube videos for Polygon since 2016. She co-directed the upcoming documentary The Great Game: The Making of Spycraft.

Sony’s press conference at E3 this year was fine.

Really, it was fine. I usually come out of Sony’s pressers feeling super jazzed about all the games I’m gonna be able to play on my PS4. But this year, I thought: okay.

We saw multiplayer footage from Call of Duty: World War II, which looked frenetic and beautifully rendered. Shadow of the Colossus is coming to PS4, which is welcome news for anyone who didn’t get around to it on PS3.

And Sony is still tooting their Days Gone horn, and it feels like they’re tooting it alone in a dark room because I can’t bring myself to care about this game.

But it’s not all bad! During the pre-show Sony announced a ton of stuff that should’ve been center-stage at the presser itself. Undertale on PS4? A new murder mystery game from the makers of Until Dawn? Yes, please!

Tune in to hear what else Nick Robinson and I thought about the show. I promise we don’t dunk on Sony too hard.
