Assassin’s Creed Origins has a lot on its shoulders. We got to spend some quality time with Ubisoft’s latest at E3 2017, and so far, our impressions are good.
Mechanically, Origins feels solid. It’s yet another refinement on free-running, and a return to the less button-heavy parkour of earlier games. Horses are back, and you can sail skiffs across the beautiful deltas of Egypt.
The game is undeniably beautiful. The towns that I explored felt lush and lively. The only reservations I have so far are for the story: We’ve only seen a bit of new hero, Bayek. Not enough to get a sense of his personality, and what really drives the guy.
