Nintendo transported visitors to its E3 booth this year to New Donk City, one of several places players will visit in Super Mario Odyssey. The sprawling metropolis full of Mario references — Cranky (Kong) Avenue, Mayor Pauline, street lamps shaped like question blocks among them — became real on the showfloor. To no one’s surprise, fans generated huge amounts of foot traffic through this real world New Donk City all week long.
Polygon made its way through the magnificent recreation of the area and committed it to memory. Browse through our photos below to see Nintendo’s impressive showfloor decorations.
If this gallery bums you out a bit — perhaps you weren’t one of the lucky fans who visited E3 this year for the first time in the convention’s history — do keep in mind that you’ll get a chance to explore New Donk City in all of its concrete glory when Super Mario Odyssey launches on Nintendo Switch this October.
