If you tuned into Sony’s PlayStation conference on Monday, you may have noticed that Spider-Man was rocking a new suit in the trailer for Insomniac’s upcoming PlayStation 4 game.
The suit, which features a white emblem instead of the normal black one seen in the comics and films. Following the conference, Insomniac confirmed that the suit was different for a reason, adding that “it’s explained in the game and has a purpose.”
But for those who weren’t fans of the new design, Insomniac has also confirmed there will be alternate suit options made available for players.

Alternate costumes aren’t anything new to the Spider-Man game universe. Both The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 gave players the option to use alternative costumes and skins, for example, with the latter offering up Miles Morales’ suit. Previous costumes have also included the classic black suit and Scarlet Spider.
Insomniac hasn’t said what the new costumes will be based on. Considering Spider-Man: Homecoming is coming out this year and Sony Pictures is going all in on Spider-Man, don’t be too surprised if we get something related to Tom Holland, the newest actor to don the suit.
Spider-Man will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro sometime next year.
