A new trailer for We Happy Few, the surrealist adventure game from Compulsion games and publisher Gearbox, ended with a launch date: Aug. 10.
We Happy Few takes place in a psychedelic, fictional version of England, where players must survive as society disintegrates around them. It’s a dystopian future that tells an alternate, darker version of World War II — one where the ramifications of the war are still felt all the way in the 1960s.
There’s also the influence of drugs, plenty of mime-looking coppers to run away from and a combination of survival, RPG and even roguelike elements to navigate throughout.
We Happy Few has been in Early Access on both Xbox One and Windows PC for more than a year now; the game’s first version launched in July 2016. On Aug. 10, it will be available on both systems as well as PlayStation 4.
Update: We Happy Few will launch on all available platforms simultaneously, not just Xbox One. We’ve updated the story above to clarify.
