Destiny 2: Forsaken was recently revealed as the game’s fall expansion during a Bungie livestream. Bungie promised that it would be back with more info during E3, and the studio delivered. At the Sony E3 2018 press conference, Forsaken got another trailer — with this one focusing on the expansion’s story.
As initially revealed, it appears that Cayde-6 has gotten himself into trouble again, but he won’t weasel his way out of it this time. This new cinematic trailer shows the death of Cayde-6 and the return of Prince Uldren Sov.
Guardians may only truly die when they lose their light, but Cayde’s ghost is taken out just before he goes down. The final shot of the trailer looks to be the player’s Guardian holding a lifeless Cayde-6 in their arms. Perhaps the Vanguard could be finding itself in need of a new Hunter.
Destiny 2: Forsaken will be released Sept. 4 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
