Final Fantasy 14 gets Monster Hunter World crossover this summer

Did you ever want a Palico in FF14?

Julia Lee (she/her) is a guides producer, writing guides for games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Genshin Impact. She helped launch the Rift Herald in 2016.

A new collaboration trailer was revealed for Final Fantasy 14 at the Square Enix conference at E3. FF14 will be crossing over with Monster Hunter World, so players who love both games can explore Eorzea with a Palico!

There’s no details yet as to what the crossover has, but players can probably expect limited-time quests that let you slay Monster Hunter World creatures, cosmetics and more, just like the game has done in the past with other franchises like Yo-kai Watch.

The website notes that the “hunt” will only be open to players at level 70 that have completed the Stormblood expansion quests, which means there might be a special raid or hard boss to fight. There is no word if the Palicos and other content is locked to these players yet.

Final Fantasy 14 originally released in 2013 and is available to play cross-platform on Windows PC, Mac OS X and PlayStation 4. Since the release, Square Enix has released two expansions: Heavensward in 2015 and Stormblood in 2017. Each expansion has added more classes and end-game content to the game. Monster Hunter World released in January 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.

This event will release in summer 2018.
