Hollow Knight is super silky on Switch

Just launched today, the Metroidvania runs great on Nintendo’s console

While Hollow Knight was first announced for Switch in January 2017, the release date has shifted a few times. The last update, this May, stated that the game was “at the finish line” but since then it’s been mostly radio silence. Until today, when the game was surprise-dropped on us during the E3 2018 Nintendo Direct.

Since then we were able to get a bit of time playing the game and we can confirm that the oft-delayed port was well worth the wait. The game looks and plays swimmingly, with a rock-steady framerate of 60 FPS.

Check out the video above, where you can see about a minute of footage taken from us playing in handheld mode, followed by about 15 minutes of direct-feed in docked mode, to give you a sense of what you can expect.
