Watch us play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with four Ridleys

It’s his time to shine

When Allegra and I had a chance to get hands on with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate today, it was no surprise that I wanted to play Ridley. The terrible space pirate’s delightful entry into the series is the highlight of my E3 so far.

Turns out that Ridley should have been in Super Smash Bros. from day one. He feels great to play, and he’s surprisingly agile for such a large character. Some might say he’s a bit too good to play, so we evened the playing field by fighting four of him on top of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Great Plateau Tower.

Nintendo is being fairly selective with its gameplay capture for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so this might be the last we get to show for a bit. I don’t regret spending our video on four Ridleys. He’s been in the shadows long enough.
