During EA Play 2018, EA’s annual pre-E3 live show, the company showed off a few minutes of gameplay footage of Anthem, BioWare’s next game.
The gameplay video featured an in-depth look at the world, characters and enemies of Anthem, as well as giving us a better look at the game’s action. As Freelancers, players will pilot mech suits called javelins and they attempt to survive in Anthem’s dangerous world.
It will feature online play with players cooperating to take down monsters and complete quests. Much like BioWare’s other games, Anthem looks to be lore-rich role-playing game set in the far future, but with a little more action sprinkled in than the studio has had in the past.
Anthem was first announced at last year’s Microsoft E3 press conference, where we saw the first short gameplay teaser. At that conference, Anthem was set for a 2018 release date; however, the game has since been pushed back to 2019.
Anthem is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Feb. 22, 2019.
