Watch BioWare’s new Anthem trailer from EA Play 2018

Anthem coming Feb. 22, 2019

Electronic Arts and BioWare’s upcoming action role-playing game, Anthem, received a new story trailer today at EA Play 2018 that should hold fans over until the game is out in 2019.

The trailer focuses on a storm that threatens to wipe out an entire civilization. The anthem is the only thing that remains, says a player in the game, as humans take on giant alien-looking creatures. On a world left unfinished by the gods, humanity struggles to survive in a savage environment. Equipped with incredible Javelin exosuits, a faction known as the Freelancers seeks to tip the balance in mankind’s favor.

BioWare has focused on other parts of the game in previous videos, including an extended look at gameplay during last year’s E3 conference. Anthem’s beautiful environments caught our eye last year, leading us to crown it one of the most exciting games of E3 2017.

Anthem’s trailer is a welcome sight at E3 amid reports the game was suffering from development woes. The game was reportedly pushed back to 2019 as pressure from publisher EA grew for BioWare’s development team to deliver the next big game following Mass Effect: Andromedas lackluster launch.

BioWare’s Anthem will be available to play on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Feb. 22, 2019.
