At the PC Gaming Show at E3 2019, Frontier Developments — the developers behind Planet Coaster, Zoo Tycoon, and Jurassic World Evolution — revealed the first gameplay trailer for its latest title, Planet Zoo.
The gameplay trailer shows players setting up unique habitats for their animals. Depending on the which animals players are housing, they can build individual structures to care for their needs — like climbable forts for cats and monkeys. For animals like hippopotami, players will need to cater to their aquatic needs with a more swamp-like atmosphere.
During the PC Gaming Show reveal, the devs referred to Planet Zoo as a “modern zoo.” Players can learn about animal conservation and research new animals to house and protect in their state-of-the-art facilities. Each creature will have their own unique needs for diet, habitat, and general care. Planet Zoo looks to be as much of an educational experience for animal lovers as it is a park simulator.
Frontier will release Planet Zoo for Steam on November 5 of this year.
