Shenmue series creator Yu Suzuki appeared on stage at the PC Gaming Show ahead of E3 2019 on Monday, offering a new look at Shenmue 3, the third (and final?) game in the 20-year saga.
There’s a big emphasis on fighting. The new gameplay trailer shows Shenmue protagonist Ryo Hazuki getting lightly thrashed by a martial arts master, what appears to be some Tai Chi training, and a battle against a gang of drunken thugs, complete with Shenmue’s signature quick time events. Ryo’s stilted dialogue and some funky looking bad guys feel ripped straight from the Dreamcast era, though Shenmue 3 certainly looks much prettier than what Sega’s late ’90s console was capable of.
Shenmue 3’s latest trailer also had a bit of a surprise: The game is coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store on PC.
Shenmue 3 will be released on Nov. 19, after a brief, recently announced delay. The game is also coming to PlayStation 4.
