Assassin’s Creed may not be getting a new, full title this year but fans may tide themselves over with its new Story Creator Mode, allowing all kinds of mission creation and customization options. Story Creator Mode is free now to all players of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The video above shows how a player will stitch together two or more objectives into a longer mission arc, choosing from all the NPCs of the main Odyssey game and even writing dialogue for them. These creations may then be shared with the wider community.
“You can pretty much write whatever you want within Story Creator Mode,” said Ubisoft Quebec’s Ellie Rhodes, adding that the dialogue tools available to players are the same ones used to develop the game. (The video above appears to put Nikolaos and Kassandra in some kind of The Lion King adaptation.)
It all means fan favorite characters like Alkibiades, Myrrine (or even Testikles, the dumb Spartan rassler) can all show up as mission givers, partners or other role-players in a quest, even if their lips won’t match the dialogue written up by the users.
