The next character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the hero of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest series. Known simply as The Hero, the character will actually be multiple heroes in one, similar to how Bowser Jr. and the Koopa Kids are represented in Ultimate.
The Hero of Dragon Quest can take the form of the protagonist from at least four games in the franchise: Dragon Quest 3: The Seeds of Salvation (aka Dragon Warrior 3 for NES), Dragon Quest 4: Chapters of the Chosen (aka Dragon Warrior 4 for NES), Dragon Quest 7: Journey of the Cursed King (PlayStation 2), and Dragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age (which is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year).
Dragon Quest’s Hero has been rumored as the next DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for months, after he was uncovered in a data mine of files from the Nintendo Switch game.
The Hero of Dragon Quest is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sometime this summer. He’ll be be available to purchase individually, but he’ll also come as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass. The pass comes with five different bundles, each including a fighter, stage, and music. The entire pass will cost $24.99.
