Nintendo announced No More Heroes 3 during its Nintendo Direct at E3 2019, delighting fans of the series who have been waiting for a new game since Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, which was released in January of this year. The last core game in the series was No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, however, which was released back in 2010.
The games center on the exploits of a hero named Travis Touchdown, whose goal is to become the world’s best assassin using his beam katana, a weapon that bears a remarkable resemblance to a lightsaber from the Star Wars universe. The original games sprung from the mind of Suda51, who brought a very unique ... viewpoint to the game’s world. It’s that sense of fun and anarchy that attracts such a dedicated fanbase.
No More Heroes 3 continues the weird energy of the previous games, and the story picks up again as Travis Touchdown jumps wears powered armor and flies onto what appears to be a giant upside-down pyramid and fights off a series of enemies that look to be robotic mannequins.
No More Heroes 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2020.
