Pokémon Sword and Shield will support the Poké Ball Plus

You’ll be able to take your Pokémon with you to work and school again

Nintendo already revealed a bulk of Pokémon Sword and Shield details in a Nintendo Direct prior to E3 2019, but the company still showed off the upcoming Pokémon game during its E3 presentation.

One big announcement was about the Poké Ball Plus, the controller accessory that debuted with Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee! The device won’t be able to be used as a controller, like how it was able to be used in those games. Players can, however, continue to put their Pokémon buddies in the ball to carry around with them when they’re not playing Sword and Shield.

The reveal noted that “something good might happen,” when you carry your Pokémon around with you in a Poké Ball Plus. In Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Eevee!, Pokémon you carry around you in your Poké Ball will gain experience and occasionally find items. It’s unknown which exact perks you’ll get with Sword and Shield, but we can likely expect something similar.

The stream also showed off Nessa, the water-type gym leader from the Galar region.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will be released on Nov. 15 for Nintendo Switch.
