The strife between the Skeksis and the Gelflings is coming to handheld platform near you.
Announced at Nintendo’s E3 showcase, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics, inspired by Netflix’s upcoming mini-series prequel to Jim Henson’s 1982 fantasy film (phew!), will arrive to the Nintendo Switch later this year.
From BonusXP and En Masse Entertainment, the 3D-animated game adapts the puppet-based lore into a tactical strategy game. If you’ve ever imagined taking combat turns in the world of Thra, this is the game for you. Just as the Age of Resistance streaming series is meant to carve out a deeper understanding of the saga, Tactics will both adapt and go beyond the scope of the series and film. Players should expect to encounter characters and environments that appear in neither live-action take on the material, which is a hyper-trippy promise.
While we wait for a firm date on Tactics, check out the trailer to Netflix’s Age of Resistance, which arrives on Aug. 30.
