A new expansion for The Sims 4 called Island Living is coming this summer, Electronic Arts and Maxis announced at EA Play 2019 on Saturday. Island Living will let Sims chill out on the laid-back island of Sulani, where they’ll be able to take part in activities like swimming, suntanning, and hanging out with dolphins and mermaids.
Sims will be able to enjoy family-friendly beach activities like collecting seashells, racing on aqua zips (the game’s version of a Jet Ski or Sea-Doo), and building sandcastles. Players can also enjoy new career options, including conservationist and lifeguard. Regarding the conservationist job, EA said that “the more Sims clean up and care for their environment, the more lush and full of explosive nature it becomes.”
Additional activities including learning local Sulani folklore, enjoying local dishes, and dressing up in new tropical-themed outfits.
The Sims 4 Island Living is coming to Mac and Windows PC on June 21, and to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 16.
EA has also partnered with the It Gets Better Project, a nonprofit organization focused on LGBTQ+ youth. As part of that partnership, and timed with Pride Month, new themed pride clothing is coming to The Sims 4 on PC, The Sims FreePlay, and The Sims Mobile, as is a gender-neutral bathroom door for The Sims 4. That content will come to the console versions of The Sims 4 in July.
