The Outer Worlds is out in October

The masters of RPGs are back

Good news, RPG fans: Obsidian Entertainment showed off more of its upcoming single-player sci-fi game, The Outer Worlds, during today’s Xbox E3 showcase. And yes, the game definitely looks like it’ll scratch that itch left behind by Fallout: New Vegas.

The Outer Worlds asks players to decipher a conspiracy at the heart of Halycon, a space colony far away from Earth. The story-driven game will be full of factions who want to come out on top — and you’ll be the one who helps determine how things play out.

Obsidian Entertainment has said that The Outer Worlds will let you kill any NPC, as nobody is marked as essential. And like Fallout: New Vegas before it, it seems that The Outer Worlds will have a great sense of humor about the future it depicts, in which everything is owned by a corporation.

The Outer Worlds will be released on Oct. 25 for Xbox One, PS4, and Windows PC, as a timed exclusive for the Epic Games Store. The Outer Worlds will also be available for Xbox Game Pass.
