Nintendo announced the next character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: It’s Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series.

Nintendo and Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai announced the latest addition to the Ultimate roster during a Nintendo Direct presentation at E3 2021 on Tuesday. Kazuya was revealed using one of his signature moves: throwing people into a volcano.

Sakurai said that more details about Kazuya Mishima will be revealed on June 28.

Kazuya Mishima is the fifth confirmed fighter coming as part of the Switch game’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2. and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 81st(!) playable character (not including Echo Fighters).

Kazuya joins recently added characters Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Min Min from Arms, and Steve/Alex from Minecraft. The most recent additions to the roster, Pyra and Mythra, were released in March.

Nintendo has at least one more character to reveal for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before Dec. 31, 2021 to round out the game’s second Fighters Pass DLC. The first Fighters Pass added Joker from Persona 5, Hero from the Dragon Quest series, Banjo and Kazooie, Terry from Fatal Fury/The King of Fighters, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses to Ultimate as paid content.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released on Nintendo Switch in December 2018. It’s one of the best games on Nintendo’s handheld console.
