Elden Ring guide: Golden Seed locations

In this Elden Ring Golden Seed guide, we’ll show you where to find every Golden Seed in the West Limgrave and beyond.

Golden Seeds are consumable items you’ll spend at sites of grace to upgrade your Sacred Flasks. Being able to pick up a few of them (relatively) early will give you a huge advantage.

Elden Ring Limgrave Golden Seed locations

There are five (or six) Golden Seeds available to you in the West Limgrave region. The first, which we won’t include on the map, is available as a keepsake during character creation. The others are located in or near Fringefolk Hero’s Cave (1), Stormgate (2), Fort Haight (3), and the Secluded Cell (4) and Liftside Chamber (5) inside Stormveil Castle.

Fringefolk Hero’s Cave Golden Seed location

This first Golden Seed you might come across actually takes a lot of work to pick up — in fact, it’s way too hard to tackle for a really long time. You’ll have to enter the Fringefolk Hero’s Cave by using two Stonesword Keys (which you can choose as a keepsake or you’ll, eventually, find in the world), navigate the poison and traps, and then beat the dungeon’s boss, the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. You’ll get a Golden Seed as a reward for defeating it.

Stormgate Golden Seed location

As you head northwest from the Gatefront Ruins toward Stormveil Castle, you’ll pass through Stormgate. Clear out the demi-humans and the troll, and you’ll be able to continue up the hill. When the road curves to the right, look to the right for a glowing tree. This Golden Seed will be at its base.

Fort Haight Golden Seed location

In East Limgrave, you’ll find Fort Haight in the east-southeast along the shore. Outside the walls and to the south, you’ll find this Golden Seed next to a glowing tree.

Secluded Cell in Stormveil Castle Golden Seed location

Deep inside Stormveil Castle, just before you reach the area’s boss, Godrick the Grafted, there’s a site of grace named Secluded Cell. To the south, look for another shining tree to find this Golden Seed.

Liftside Chamber in Stormveil Castle Golden Seed location

Deep below Stormveil Castle, there’s an hard-to-reach underground area — you’ll have to unlock that door by the Liftside Chamber site of grace to get there. Defeat the Lesser Ulcerated Tree Spirit you find there to receive this Golden Seed.

Elden Ring Weeping Peninsula Golden Seed locations

There’s only one Golden Seed in the Weeping Peninsula. You’ll find it to the northeast of Castle Morne.

About halfway between the Castle Morne Lift and Rampart sites of grace, there’s a low stone wall running (roughly) east-to-west. South of the plateau that wall is on, look for some ruins. Just south of the ruins, you’ll find another glowing tree and a Golden Seed at its base (it’s just a little southwest of the Weeping Plateau map fragment stele).

There are five Golden Seeds in Liurnia of the Lakes located in (or near) Academy Gate Town (1), Main Academy Gate (2), Academy of Raya Lucaria (3), Caria Manor (4), and Ravine-Veiled Village (5).

Academy Gate Town Golden Seed location

In the flooded Academy Gate Town, you’ll find a glowing tree and this Golden Seed a little northwest of the Academy Gate Town site of grace (and due west of the Academy Gate Town icon on your map).

Main Academy Gate Golden Seed location

From the Main Academy Gate site of grace, follow the bridge northeast and you’ll find this Golden Seed under a glowing tree at the end.

Academy of Raya Lucaria Golden Seed location

Deep inside the Academy of Raya Lucaria, start at the Debate Parlor site of grace (which unlocks after you defeat the Red Wolf of Radagon). Head north into the open courtyard and keep to the left (west) until you can cross under the bridge. You’ll find this glowing tree and Golden Seed on the edge of the cliff.

Caria Manor Golden Seed location

Inside Caria Manor in the northwest of Liurnia, continue through to the Manor Upper Level site of grace. This Golden Seed is just outside to the west-northwest.

Ravine-Veiled Village Golden Seed location

Follow the water through the ravine heading northeast out of the lake. You’ll pass some poison pods near a glowing tree where you’ll find this Golden Seed.

Elden Ring Caelid and Dragonbarrow Golden Seed locations

There are four Golden Seeds in Caelid and Dragonbarrow located in or near Southern Aconia Swamp Bank (1), Sellia Backstreets (2), War-Dead Catacombs (3), and Bestial Sanctum (4).

Southern Aconia Swamp Bank Golden Seed location

Follow the road from the Aconia Swamp Bank site of grace heading south-southeast toward the Impassable Greatbridge. You’ll pass a glowing tree and this golden seed.

Sellia Backstreets Golden Seed location

From the Sellia Backstreets site of grace, head south — either through or over the magical barrier — and you’ll find this glowing tree and golden seed inside the walls of the city.

War-Dead Catacombs Golden Seed location

Once you defeat Starscourge Radahn, ride north across the Wailing Dunes as far as you can. Right at the tip of the Dunes, near the shore, you’ll find a door into the War-Dead Catacombs. Defeat this dungeon’s boss, the Putrid Tree Spirit, in the War-Torn Catacombs to collect this Golden Seed.

Bestial Sanctum Golden Seed location

About halfway between the Farum Greatbridge and Beastial Sanctum sites of grace, you’ll pass this glowing tree and Golden Seed along the road.

Elden Ring Siofra and Nokron, Eternal City Golden Seed locations

There is one Golden Seed in Siofra River and Nokron, Eternal City located in or near Below the Well (1).

Below the Well Golden Seed location

A bit south of the Below the Well site of grace, look for a natural bridge leading northwest toward the Eternal City. You’ll find this glowing tree and Golden Seed against the base of Nokron’s walls.

Elden Ring Ansel River and Nokstella Golden Seed locations

There is one Golden Seed in Ansel River and Nokstella, Eternal City located in or near Nokstella, Eternal City (1).

Nokstella, Eternal City Golden Seed location

There’s no easy way to get to this Golden Seed — and no site of grace nearby. While you explore Nokstella, Eternal City, you’ll eventually come to the chapel where you acquired the Moon of Nokstella. When you exit to the south, you’ll find an elevator to ride down. This glowing tree and Golden Seed is outside at the bottom of that lift.

Elden Ring Lake of Rot Golden Seed locations

There is one Golden Seed in the Lake of Rot located in or near the Grand Cloister (1).

Grand Cloister Golden Seed location

From the Grand Cloister site of grace, head down to the lowest level. When you reach the ground, follow the river of rot upstream to the east and north. Defeat the Ulcerated Tree Spirit there for this Golden Seed.

Elden Ring Altus Plateau Golden Seed locations

There are eight Golden Seeds (at six locations) in the Altus Plateau and the outskirts of Leyndell, Royal Capital located in (or near) the Altus Highway Junction (1), Minor Erdtree (2), Highway Lookout Tower (3), Outer Wall Phantom Tree (4), Ulcerated Tree Spirit (5), and Finger Reader (6).

There are two additional Golden Seeds inside Leyndell, Royal Capital.

Altus Highway Junction Golden Seed location

Follow the road north from the Altus Highway Junction site of grace just a little and you’ll see this glowing tree and Golden Seed along the left side of the road.

Minor Erdtree Golden Seed location

You’ll find this Golden Seed a little northwest of the Altus Plateau’s Minor Erdtree. The closest site of grace is the Windmill Village. Follow the road west and south from the village and this glowing tree is along the road.

Highway Lookout Tower Golden Seed location

Also starting from the Windmill Village site of grace, head southeast toward the Highway Lookout Tower. This glowing tree and Golden Seed will be along the right (south) side of the road as you approach the Royal Capital.

Outer Wall Phantom Tree Golden Seed location

As you enter the Royal Capital, the first site of grace you come to is the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace. There are two Golden Seeds right there.

Ulcerated Tree Spirit Golden Seed location

Straight south from the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace, there’s a soldier encampment. When you arrive, an Ulcerated Tree Spirit will fall out of the sky. Defeat it for a Golden Seed.

Finger Reader Golden Seed location

Follow the road northeast from the Outer Wall Phantom Tree site of grace to the next plaza — there’s a Finger Reader here to chat with. There are another two Golden Seeds at the glowing tree in the center.

Elden Ring Mt. Gelmir Golden Seed locations

There are three Golden Seeds in Mt. Gelmir, located in or near Erdtree-Gazing Hill (1), Seethewater River (2), and the Fallingstar Beast.

Erdtree-Gazing Hill Golden Seed location

Down in the southeast corner of Mt. Gelmir, you’ll find the Erdtree-Gazing Hill site of grace and the Lux Ruins. You’ll see this glowing tree and Golden Seed just northeast of the site of grace.

Seethewater River Golden Seed location

From the Seethewater River site of grace, follow the canyon north. You’ll pass by this glowing tree and Golden Seed a little past the first set of geysers.

Fallingstar Beast Golden Seed location

After you avoid (or defeat) the Fallingstar Beast in northwest Mt. Gelmir, you’ll continue west along the plateau. Just before you turn to continue down to the Volcano Manor, this glowing tree and Golden Seed will be along the road.

Elden Ring Mountaintops of the Giants Golden Seed locations

There are five Golden Seeds to find in the Mountaintops of the Giants located in or near the Giant Skull (1), Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs (2), Foot of the Forge (3), Freezing Lake (4), and Ordina, Liturgical Town (5).

Giant Skull Golden Seed location

When you first enter the Mountaintops of the Giants, you’ll pass along a snowy and narrow path. Shortly before you reach the Grand Lift of Rold, you’ll pass by a giant(’s) skull. A little north of there, you’ll see a glowing tree and this Golden Seed.

Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs

Inside the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs dungeon, you’ll have to defeat an(other) Ulcerated Tree Spirit. It’ll drop a Golden Seed.

Foot of the Forge Golden Seed location

From the Foot of the Forge site of grace, head northeast past the various giant corpses. You’ll find this glowing tree and Golden Seed in front of one of the giants on a small plateau.

Freezing Lake Golden Seed location

From the Freezing Lake site of grace, head south into the canyon. Just past the Heretical Rise, you’ll find this glowing tree and Golden Seed.

Ordina, Liturgical Town Golden Seed location

When you reach the Consecrated Snowfield region of the Mountaintops of the Giants, head west from the Ordina, Liturgical Town site of grace toward the frozen river to find this Golden Seed.

Elden Ring Crumbling Farum Azula Golden Seed locations

There are two Golden Seeds to collect in Crumbling Farum Azula located in or near the Dragon Temple Lift (1) and Dragon Temple Rooftop (2).

Dragon Temple Lift Golden Seed location

From the Dragon Temple Lift site of grace, follow the main path south. You’ll see this glowing tree and Golden Seed at the top of some stairs guarded by a whole lot of skeletons.

Dragon Temple Rooftop Golden Seed location

From the Dragon Temple Rooftop site of grace, continue down toward the bottom of Crumbling Farum Azula. As you descend, you’ll pass a raised area full of pillars and stormhawks on your left. Look around to the east to find a way up to this glowing tree and Golden Seed.
