Groveside Cave is a hidden dungeon in Elden Ring’s West Limgrave area. In this area, there are some useful items and the Beastman of Farum Azula boss. In this Elden Ring Groveside Cave guide we’ll tell you what enemies to expect, where to find the items, how to beat the boss, and what reward to expect when you do.
Groveside Cave location
There are a number of useful items in Groveside Cave, especially for when you’re starting off your journey, and it’s easily accessible from the first few sites of grace you will unlock by following the main path. However it can be missed if you stick to the main road.
From the Church of Elleh, head north until you hit the cliff face, just to the east of the large pond. Keep an eye out for Godrick Soldiers, including one close to the entrance of the cave. He is sitting facing north, so sneak up on him for a backstab.
Groveside Cave enemies and items
Groveside Cave is small but has several wolf enemies inside. These are best dealt with one-by-one if possible, although they tend to attack in a pack. Backing away into the narrower tunnels can help to line them up for you.
From the main entrance, drop down off the small cliff to find a Cracked Pot, which you can use to craft various items. You’ll only ever be able to craft as many items as you have pots to put them in, so it’s useful to pick this one up early.
Further along in the cave, you can find three Glowstones, which can illuminate dark areas, and a small Golden Rune, which is worth 200 Runes either in the equipment menu or at vendors.
Groveside Cave boss: Beastman of Farum Azula
Following the path to the right will lead you to the boss door. The Beastman of Farum Azula is a fast werewolf-like creature with a large blade.
His attacks can be wide and dramatic, however if you keep your distance, there is usually a reasonably big window for a counter attack afterward. Being an early game boss, he also doesn’t have a lot of health. By learning these patterns and taking advantage of his recovery time, you can defeat the Beastman of Farum Azula with relative ease.
Defeating the Beastman of Farum Azula will reward you with 1,000 Runes and the Flamedrake Talisman. This boosts fire damage negation.
