The Mistwood Ruins are an explorable section in Elden Ring’s East Limgrave area, where you can find some loot and the wolfman Blaidd the Half-Wolf. In this Elden Ring Mistwood Ruins guide, we’ll tell you where to find the ruins, what loot to expect, enemies you’ll encounter, and how to meet Blaidd.

Mistwood Ruins location and enemies

Mistwood Ruins are in East Limgrave. This area is slightly more dangerous than West Limgrave, but still part of the general starting area. The Ruins are in a wooded area, close to the path through the trees. The path goes between the Third Church of Marika site of grace and the Fort Haight West site of grace, so you may want to start at one of those points. Be wary of bears to the north and Undead Soldiers to the south.

Within the ruins is an underground area with a chest. A Lesser Runebear sleeps on top of the entrance, but you can sneak past it if you crouch and jump over the low wall. Alternatively, if you do accidentally wake it up, you can run down the stairs, where it is too big to follow. Or, of course, you can fight it. It fights with its front paws, so try to stay behind it if you can and dodge roll when it turns and swipes at you.

In a small square tower to the west of the underground entrance, there is a chest with a Smithing Stone [2] inside.

In the underground area there is a chest containing the Axe Talisman. This enhances charged attacks.

Finding Blaidd the Half-Wolf in the Mistwood Ruins

Close to the Mistwood Ruins, you may hear howling. After you do, head back to the Church of Elleh to speak to Merchant Kalé, and he’ll teach you the Finger Snap Gesture.

Back at the Mistwood Ruins, use this gesture when you hear the howling, and Blaidd will come down from high in the ruins.

If you don’t see this happen, you may have to search for Blaidd on the ground. There is a gap in the wall on the northern edge of the Ruins, and Blaidd is inside this small area. He will greet you and tell you that he is looking for someone called Darriwil. This is the beginning of Blaidd’s quest.
