Fringefolk Hero’s Grave is a dungeon in Elden Ring’s West Limgrave filled with traps and enemies as well as lots of loot and a boss fight. In this Elden Ring Fringefolk Hero’s Grave walkthrough, we’ll tell you how to access and navigate the dungeon, defeat the boss, and what loot you can expect.

You can access Fringefolk Hero’s Grave from the Stranded Graveyard, one of the sites of grace right at the beginning of Elden Ring However, it requires two Stonesword Keys to open, an indication that this is a higher level area. For this guide, we had already beaten Margit at around level 25, and the dungeon was still noticeably more tricky than the other hidden areas in Limgrave.

A few Stonesword Keys are available in Limgrave, including in the Dragon-Burnt Ruins and sold by Patches in Murkwater Cave for 5,000 Runes.

Once opened, you can enter Fringefolk Hero’s Grave by running through the poisonous corridor.

Fringefolk Hero’s Grave enemies and loot

Throughout Fringefolk Hero’s Grave are Castle Guard Phantoms and Imps. These enemies can ambush you, particularly when you are hiding from the Chariot. The Chariot is an enemy that roams the corridors of the Hero’s Grave. Avoid it by using the alcoves in the walls, but be wary of the Phantoms that spawn in them.

At the start of the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave are five Poisonbone Darts. Keep heading down, the corridor, avoiding the Chariot and the Phantoms until you get to the part where the path narrows.

Jump down where the path narrows onto to the higher of the two ledges. (Don’t run too fast on the approach, or you’ll fall too far and die.)

Past the Imps is a fire trap. Activate it, and then run back up the stairs to safety. Once it goes off, run to the alcove (watch out for the Imp), and then finally to the trap itself. You can hit the trap to deactivate it, and then stand on it to reactivate it.

In the room to the left of the trap, there are two more Imps, one of which will drop from the ceiling when you enter. Past them is some Lightning Grease.

Continuing northeast from the fire trap, you’ll encounter a room with a raised walkway. In this room, two Grafted Scions will spawn. These are very strong enemies, but they are optional to fight. At the far end of the walkway is the Erdtree’s Favor, a very helpful talisman that raises HP, Stamina, and Equip Load when equipped. However, you can grab this and escape without needing to fight the Grafted Scions. They only drop a little under 600 Runes each.

Dropping down to the floor in the Scion room, you can follow the dungeon around until you reach a balcony overlooking the Chariot’s path. Here there is a Stonesword Key. Additionally, from here, you can use ranged weapons to drop a large pot on the Chariot, breaking it. This will permanently remove the Chariot, which is extremely useful for continuing to explore the Hero’s Grave. It will also reward you with the Erdtree Greatbow and some Great Arrows. The bow requires 14 Faith and 14 Dexterity to use.

Dropping back down onto the Chariot’s path and continuing down and across the thinner path leads eventually to a fight with a more powerful Castle Guard Phantom. Defeating him will drop the Dragon Communion Seal, a Strike weapon that requires 10 Faith and 10 Arcane. It boosts Dragon Communion incantations. Also in this room is Dragonwound Grease.

Returning to the Chariot’s path, the boss door is at the very bottom of the dungeon.

The boss of the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave is the Ulcerated Tree Spirit. This boss can move around rapidly, attacking with feet, tail, and head. It can also grab and use fire. However, it is weak to fire itself.

When defeated, this boss drops 15,000 Runes. It also rewards you with the Banished Knight Oleg Ashes summon, and a Golden Seed. You can use this to increase the number of flask uses at any spirit of grace.
