Visiting churches in Elden Ring Nightreign should be your top priority during the first two nights of a match for one reason: Interacting with the altars you’ll find in each church increases how many charges you have for your Flask of Crimson Tears, ultimately helping you keep your health up.

Our Elden Ring Nightreign guides shows all church locations in a match, broken down into all possible church locations, plus some details about where the churches actually appear in each match.

Although Limveld is a different every time visit it, there are always three to four churches per run for you to find. Above, you can see on the map all the locations where churches can appear in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Church spawn locations in Elden Ring Nightreign

Churches appear in predetermined locations, but the churches that appear each run will be different every time. For example, in your first run, there might be two in the northwest and one in the middle of the map; but in the second, there might only one be on the northwest side of the map and two on the south side.

Here are some examples of church spawn points we’ve seen in recent runs.

We’ve entered each of the first seven available expeditions ten times to test and see if there is a predetermined rotation of churches. Although church spawn locations repeat, there is no cycling order that determines which combination of church locations will appear. Earlier expeditions tend to rotate between the same patterns more regularly.

You start to see churches in different places after getting to later expeditions. This seems like a way for the game to gradually make later levels more difficult and feel fresh since they become less predictable.

You can’t usually determine whether a map will have four or three churches. The only exception is during The Crater Shifting Earth event. During the Shifting Earth event, four churches will spawn — three at any of the usual spots and one in the volcanic area.
