The 2018 Netflix Christmas movie The Christmas Chronicles, which gave us none other than Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, ended by introducing Goldie Hawn as Mrs. Claus. Now The Christmas Chronicles 2 is on the way, with both real-life partners returning to help save Christmas once more.
Set two years after the events of the first movie, the sequel reunites the Claus family with Kate (Darby Camp), though she’s joined this time by the son (Jahzir Bruno) of her mom’s new boyfriend (Tyrese Gibson). Kate is having trouble accepting her mom’s new relationship, but must learn to grow as a troublemaker named Belsnickel (Hunt for the Wilderpeople’s Julian Dennison) plots to destroy the North Pole. Who is Belsnickel? Why does he want to end Christmas? We’ll have to wait to find out. In the meanwhile, enjoy the new trailer, which features Russell playing the saxophone.
The Christmas Chronicles 2 is directed by Chris Columbus, and is set to hit Netflix on Nov. 25.
