If you, like me, thought that magic tricks were impossible to do remotely, be prepared to proven wrong in the best way possible. Watch as the magician David Blaine went on The Late Late Show last night to perform some magic via FaceTime.
Blaine’s performance was part of James Corden’s #HomeFest, in which the host recorded at home (joining the ranks of Stephen Colbert and John Oliver in taking precautions against the COVID-19 pandemic). Blaine dialed in via FaceTime, doing two mind-blowing tricks. One involved picking a random card and then finding it in the deck, while the other involved a complicated series of associations ending in Blaine making what Corden was thinking of magically appear on a card.
#HomeFest has proven to be fun so far, as stars like Blaine and Will Ferrell have appeared via video call on Corden’s show to do everything from magic to, in Ferrell’s case, giving a hand-washing PSA.
