Judging by the trailer, the new HBO Max series Raised By Wolves is going to be a wild ride. Executive produced by Ridley Scott (who also directed the first couple of episodes) and created by Prisoners’ Aaron Guzikowski, the show centers on two androids, Mother (Amanda Collin) and Father (Abubakar Salim), who are charged with taking care of several human children.
Their lives are relatively peaceful, but that peace is soon shattered by the war breaking out in the neighboring human colony. The trailer showcases the humans’ attempts to separate the androids from their children, as well as suggesting that Mother had been used as a weapon in her previous life.
Most notably, the trailer shows off just how dangerous Mother is. Her connection to her children seems genuine, which means that her protective instinct is dialed up to 11, too. She vaporizes anyone who stands in her way into clouds of blood, and seems to be able to generate protective armor and fly, too.
Raised By Wolves premieres on HBO Max on Sept. 3.
