The new trailer for Netflix’s Hill House sequel, Haunting of Bly Manor, is delightfully creepy

Mike Flanagan serves up more spookiness

After the success of The Haunting of Hill House, Netflix has spun the property into “the Haunting anthology series.” The upcoming second installment, The Haunting of Bly Manor, has just debuted a new trailer that’s even creepier than the first.

Mike Flanagan, who helmed the first series, is returning for Bly Manor, which is set in 1980s England and is based on Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw. Like another popular horror anthology series, American Horror Story, the Haunting anthology is also bringing back cast members from its first season, though they’ll be taking on different roles.

The new series, as suggested by the title, will focus on the Bly estate. After the death of an au pair, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a new governess, Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti), for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth). Dani soon discovers that all is not well at Bly Manor, and the new trailer showcases some of the ghosts and ghouls she’s up against.

The Haunting of Bly Manor also stars Rahul Kohli as the estate’s chef, Amelia Eve as the groundskeeper, and T’Nia Miller as the housekeeper.

The new series will debut on Netflix Oct. 9.
