Anime fans who played Fallout 4’s Far Harbor were likely as disappointed as Hiyokomod upon meeting Kasumi Nakano. She looked nothing like the kawaii girl they expected to encounter, based on her voice over the radio. “I was in despair when I met Kasumi,” Hiyokomod said. Thus the inspiration for Animerace Nanakochan.
Available through Nexus Mods (as seen by Siliconera) the mod means what its name says: It adds a race that resembles an anime, for use as either a player or NPC. The player form is compatible with equipment and hairstyles other than the pirate hats and hairdos (many of which clip through the body) those included with the mod. “These characters are very lively because they can have various expressions,” the modder writes. Check it out.
Some fans have pointed out that the race is entirely female, which may thwart your ambition of a total conversion of Fallout 4 to full anime status (not sure that would make Preston or the Minutemen any more tolerable, either way). But as a novelty, particularly with Japanese language and subtitles, perhaps it’s worth a chuckle or two, particularly for movie makers.
The mod (and its requirements and instructions for installation) is available through Nexus Mods.
