How to unlock Sage – FFXIV: Endwalker guide

FFXIV’s latest expansion adds a new healing job to the roster: Sage, who use barriers to protect their party while healing. Some of Sage’s abilities even heal by dealing damage to the enemy. Our FFXIV Sage guide explains where to unlock Sage and any prerequisites to do so.

Sage prerequisites

To unlock the Sage job, you’ll need to have the following:

  • Own the Endwalker expansion
  • Have at least one combat job at level 70 or higher

Where to unlock Sage

Once you meet those prerequisites, you can talk to the Sharlayan Maiden NPC in the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X: 9.4, Y:12.9) to start the Sage quest. This will reward you with the Sage job stone and a simple set of gear. Your Sage will be leveled to 70 at unlock.

We recommend grabbing some Augmented Scaevan gear from Rhalgr’s Reach using Tomestones of Poetics to upgrade before you jump into content. You can also buy level appropriate gear from the marketboard. The chest of gear you get as a quest reward also does not give accessories, so make sure you have a set of level 70 accessories equipped before you jump into a dungeon.
