FFXIV’s latest expansion adds a new melee DPS job to the roster: Reaper, who slashes down enemies with the help of their demonic avatar companion. Our FFXIV Reaper guide explains where to unlock Reaper and any prerequisites to do so.

Reaper prerequisites

To unlock the Reaper job, you’ll need to have the following:

  • Own the Endwalker expansion
  • Have at least one combat job at level 70 or higher

Where to unlock Reaper

Once you meet those prerequisites, you can talk to the Flustered Attendant NPC in the Ul’dah, Steps of Nald (X: 12.8, Y:8.6) to start the Reaper quest. This will reward you with the Sage job stone and a simple set of gear. Your Reaper will be leveled to 70 at unlock.

We recommend grabbing some Augmented Scaevan gear from Rhalgr’s Reach using Tomestones of Poetics to upgrade before you jump into content. You can also buy level appropriate gear from the marketboard. The chest of gear you get as a quest reward also does not give accessories, so make sure you have a set of level 70 accessories equipped before you jump into a dungeon.
