One of Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s biggest scenes shows off Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith in fancy dresses. While the dresses don’t appear until a later chapter, the decisions you make in earlier parts decide which dresses they wear.

To get the “Dressed to the Nines” trophy, you’ll have to unlock all nine dresses, which requires playing through the game multiple times. In this Final Fantasy 7 Remake guide, we’ll show you how to unlock every dress for Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith, based on our own playthroughs, along with help from several other guides.

Tifa’s dresses are dependent on how you answer her question in Chapter 3 about what to wear.

  • If you answer “mature,” Tifa will wear a blue lace dress.
  • If you answer “sporty,” Tifa will wear a leopard print cheongsam.
  • If you answer “exotic,” Tifa will wear a black and gray robe dress.

Unlocking Cloud’s dresses

Cloud’s dress is dependent on how many side quests you complete in Chapter 9, as well as which specific side quests you complete.

  • Completing zero side quests will give Cloud a black dress.
  • Completing “Burning Thighs,” “The Price of Thievery,” and “Shears’ Counterattack” will give Cloud a white dress.
  • Completing “Burning Thighs,” “The Party Never Stops,” and “A Dynamite Body” will give Cloud a blue dress.

While “Burning Thighs” will appear on any playthrough, only one set of the other two side quests will appear, depending on prior choices you made in Chapter 9.

Getting the white dress for Cloud

  1. Say Tifa is “great at handling the books” when describing her to Sam.
  2. Ignore Johnny when he runs by you at the beginning of Chapter 9.
  3. Do not take part in the heads or tails against Chocobo Sam.
  4. Get a luxury hand massage from Madam M when she asks what type of massage you want.
  5. Continue on to the Colosseum and beat it.
  6. Complete the three side quests for Madam M.

Getting the blue dress for Cloud

  1. Say Tifa is “in great shape” when describing her to Sam.
  2. Follow Johnny and talk to him when he runs past you at the beginning of Chapter 9.
  3. Complete his mini quest line.
  4. Play heads or tails against Chocobo Sam.
  5. Pick the cheapest hand massage from Madam M.
  6. Continue on to the Colosseum and beat it.
  7. Complete the three side quests for Chocobo Sam.

There is some debate on whether or not the type of hand massage you get from Madam M matters, but pick up the specified massages above just to be safe.

Unlocking Aerith’s dresses

Which dress Aerith wears depends on how many side quests you complete in Chapter 8.

  • If you complete 0-2 side quests, you’ll get a simple pink dress.
  • If you complete 3-5 side quests, you’ll get a longer pink dress.
  • If you complete all six side quests, you’ll get the intricate red dress.
