Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, the PS5 version of the JRPG, allows you to transfer and play your save data from the PS4 version of the game, but the transfer is not automatic.

To transfer your save data, you need Final Fantasy 7 Remake downloaded on whatever device has your save data. If your save data is on your PlayStation 5, you’ll need to make sure that you download and install the PlayStation 4 version of the game, not the new version.

Once the game becomes playable, open the game, and select “Upload save data” from the main menu. Choose which save data to upload.

After you upload your save data, download and open the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and choose “Download save data” from the main menu. Pick a slot to download your save data to, and voila! You now have transferred your save data, and it should be ready to play.

You can tell that the save data transferred successfully since you’ll have all of the PlayStation trophies you unlocked in rapid succession.
