Aubrey “Drake” Graham was back on Twitch last night, once again streaming Fortnite with his friend and big-deal streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Just like last time, Drake’s appearance led people to beg for an emote based on the rapper’s most famous video — and now we know that he’s on the same page.
Toward the end of the stream, Drake and Ninja talked about whether Fortnite would get any callouts or samples on his next album.
“Dude, you gotta put some Fortnite lingo in the album, man,” Ninja told Drake, who’s prepping his follow-up to 2016’s Views right now. (We just got a new music video from him last week.)
Drake’s down — under one condition, he replied.
“I say when Epic gives me the emote, when Epic gives me the ‘Hotline Bling’ emote, I’ll do it, man,” said Drake.
You can watch that full clip from the stream below. The onus is now on Epic Games to give the fans what they want: that squat-like dance from the “Hotline Bling” video, which has since been immortalized in many a Vine. Drake wants more than just his own dance move in the emote rotation, though. He also insists that Epic add emotes based on other catchy moves, like the Uzi Shoulder and the Shoot Dance.
If Destiny can do it, Fortnite should be able to. Drake’s never played Destiny on stream, if he’s ever even played it, so ...
We’ve reached out to Epic Games to see if it plans on making Drake’s dream come true.
