Fortnite’s guided missiles temporarily disabled, thanks to bug

It might be a while before you can pull off another rocket ride

Epic Games

Epic Games has temporarily disabled one of Fortnite Battle Royale’s most popular and absurd weapons, the guided missile, due to a bug found in the game’s latest patch.

The developer first announced that it had disabled the weapon via a Tweet early Wednesday morning, just a few hours after the patch went live.

“Due to an animation issue with the Guided Missile, we’re temporarily disabling it until we have a fix,” Epic wrote. “We’ll update you once it’s resolved!”

The weapon remains unavailable. The patch, released earlier today, didn’t change much about guided missiles outside of their travel speed, but it appears those updates somehow broke the weapon’s animation. Epic did not offer further details.

It could take a while for the developer to implement a fix; we’ve reached out to Epic Games for comment. The guided missiles won’t be reactivated until the bug is gone, according to Epic — although some fans on Twitter and the Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit would rather the gun stay out of the game permanently.
