Fortnite is playable at 60 fps on the newest iPhones

The iPhone XS, XS-Max and XR all support 60 fps

Fortnite - gliding in Epic Games

Smooth gameplay and quick reactions are always key to success in Fortnite Battle Royale, and that’s getting a little easier for certain mobile players. According to a tweet from Epic Games Nick Chester, Fortnite players who are playing on the iPhone XS, XS-Max or XR now have the option to play the game at 60 fps, as of the iOS version’s latest patch.

While there’s no word yet on when or if this feature will make it to other mobile devices, it seems likely that this is just the first and other phones will get the option soon. But at the very least, this is likely to be a standard option for every phone released that’s more powerful than these latest iPhones.

Fortnite also runs at 60 fps on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, while the Switch version of the game remains capped at 30 fps. As Epic continues to optimize the game for different hardware, it’s possible that older phones and even the Switch could receive upgraded, 60 fps-capable versions of the game at some point in the future.
