Fortnite’s v7.40 patch included a welcome surprise: Players can earn the upcoming season’s battle pass for free. For a limited time, Epic Games lets players complete challenges to earn the season 8 battle pass, rather than having to pay for it. The battle pass should launch in the beginning of March.

To earn the free battle pass, players must complete 13 Overtime challenges. If you already have the season 7 battle pass, Overtime challenges will also unlock additional skin variants for Trog, Powder, and Onesie.

Epic is giving players from Feb. 14, the day of patch v7.40’s release, until Feb. 27, the day before season 7 ends, to complete as many of the Overtime challenges as they can, and hopefully unlock next season’s battle pass.
